As you will see, I am super excited about every step of our new house going up. My excitement has led me to drive by every chance I get, and ooh and aah over every nail that is being put into our new home. I plan to log every step that I can into this blog.

Back to Work
After a long X-mas weekend, they were definately back at it yesterday. When I stopped by, the electrician, HVAC, and plumber was all there. There was also a crew installing siding, and another crew setting forms to pour the sidewalk. It was a pretty busy place, so Peyton and I didn't stay long. I'll try to get some pictures posted tonight.

Busy Subcontractors
With the framers finished, the HVAC and the Electrical is really coming along. The electrician has another day left, and the HVAC is another day or to from being finished also. The shingles are almost done too, with about a half day left and I am really happy with the color we picked out. The plumber is scheduled to come tomorrow, and the Supervisor is hoping to get it all inspected by the end of the week. It also looks like they poured the front porch today, and the sidewalk from the driveway to the porch should be soon to follow.

ALMOST done framing
The framers planned to be done yesterday, but the windows arrived too late in the day to finish. Hopefully, they will get them in today. The plan was to pour the basement floor yesterday or today, and I forgot to check yesterday if it was done. Also, the shingles were delivered yesterday, and placed on top of the house. I'm not sure when that is to be done - hopefully by the end of the weekend.

The Next Step
The framer should be finishing up in the next couple of days. It sounds like the windows are going in tomorrow, and then they are out of there (except when they come back to do the stairs). The plumber started in the basement, and they plan to have the floor poured by monday. After that it sounds like it is going to get really busy out there. The building supervisor said we should know Monday if they will need to get into March, but he doesn't think so, and I sure hope not.

It's really starting to look like a house!!
Only stopped for a few minutes today, but I saw that they finished framing the walls and were setting the trusses. The framers said they should be done by Friday, including the windows. (Except for the basement sairs. They have to wait until the floor is poured)

Framing has begun!
Finally after what seemed like FOREVER, progress is being made on the house. They started putting in the floor, and one of the workers said that he thinks the driveway will be poured tomorrow.

First Delivery
Today they delivered the floor joists and the osb decking. I also watched the guy dump a whole bundle of the osb. You can see the concrete blanket on the driveway. Since the spec house to the south does not have one, I am assuming (and hoping) they are still planning on pouring the dirveway soon.
Truss layout
I was able to get my dirty hands on the truss layout for our house. Being a former licenced Level II Truss Technician, this is like candy to me. It definately brought back alot of memories.

Day of assumptions
Stopped by the house and they had laid concrete blankets over where the garage floor and driveway are supposed to be. They haven't yet set forms. It looks like while they were at it, they dug out where the sidewalk is to be also. They haven't done anything yet with plumbing the basement.
I also heard through the grapevine that the trusses are to be delivered next friday (Dec 10). We'll see if that date holds up.

December 1 Progress - after a week off (OK we'll give them Thanksgiving)
Today it looks like they finished running the water line from the stopbox into the basement which they started yesterday. There was also a guy pushing sand for the garage floor. Hopefully they get to pour some more concrete before the snow flies
What has been done up to today
It's always best to start with the beginning. Below is the lot staked out.
On November 17, two days later, the hole has been dug.
November 18, the forms for the footings have been set,
and are being poured.
Then over the weekend, the foundation was poured
