The Countdown Continues

Lots hof work is being done out at the house.  We are doing a preliminary walk-through tomorrow afternoon, so they are rushing to get some last minute things ready.  The carpet was installed on Monday, and the plumber has been in and out the beginning of this week also.

The countdown begins

The countertops were installed today!  There was a small hang-up with them earlier in the week, but it ended up for the better.  When the slabs came in of the color that we originally picked out, they were NOT what we expected (you'll have that with granite).  So we ended up picking a totally different "color" and below is what we picked.  Now we're glad the first color fell through. 

The electricians are finishing up with their work.  All of the light fixtures have been installed, along with the outlets and switches.  Now that the countertops are in, the plumber can come and finish.  We're almost there!

The Home Stretch

They started with the finish electrical work today.  The light fixtures have been delivered, and the outlets and switches are being installed.  We went this afternoon to  choose the acual granite slab for the kitchen counters and the vendor said they will start to install them the end of this week or beginning of the next.  Once the counters are in, the plumber can come and finsh up and after that the house is pretty well done.  Just punch list items after that.  It's our home's home stretch.

Flooring

They started installing the flooring.  Yesterday they started with the tile in the upstairs bathrooms and the laundry room.  Since the water is yet to be turned on, they will come back to grout, which they said will only take a couple of hours.  Today they started the laminate wood floor on the main floor in the kitchen/dining area, and from the entry to the half bath.  They should just have a little to finish tomorrow

It's starting to get REALLY exciting!!

THE CABINETS ARE INSTALLED!!  The painters finished up yesterday, which made way for the cabinets to be installed and they look great.  Now they can measure for the countertops, and we can pick up our granite slab.

Trim

They were working on the trim some more today.  They should get mostly all of the trim finished today.  They also finished the stair railing, and the mantle.

Doors

Trimming started today.  That means they started installing the interior doors.  When I got there, they were finishing up with them, and were in the middle of putting in the stair railing going up to the second floor.
